構想から10年以上を経て2003年にリリースされたジャコ・パストリアスのドキュメント・アルバム。フロリダで活動していた1968年から1978年までの10年間の記録を80ページのカラー・ブックレットと2枚のCD（Disc-1は1968～74年、Disc-2は1974～78年8の録音）で綴る。

ここに収録されているのはジャコとともに青春時代を過ごした親友であり、本作品のプロデューサーであるボブ・ボビングのプライベートテープの音源。ジャコがマイアミで録音したオリジナルのデモ・テープから、プロとして行なった初めてのセッション、初めて結成したバンドの演奏と、客演のセッションなど貴重な記録が収録されている。曲間にはジョニ・ミッチェル、パット・メセニー、ハービー･ハンコック、ジョー・ザヴィヌル他へのインタビューを挿入。初版の日本用エディションにはこれらのインタビューをを完訳した冊子を同梱していた。

2006年にはこの収録からインタビュー部分を省いた楽曲のいくつかをノーカットで収録した『The Early Years Recordings』が発売された。
